How to Reset Passwords for Your Users Follow
This article will show you how to reset a user's password as an Admin.
Sending an Invite or Reconnecting to an Account
If a new user needs to connect to your Tallie company account, or if a user accidentally disconnects their account by clicking "Disconnect" on the identity page or needs to reset their password, the admin can resolve the issue by sending the user a new invitation email.
Here’s how to do it:
- Navigate to Settings.
- Click on Manage Lists.
- Select People.
- Select the user(s) requiring an invitation
- Click the down arrow on the green Mass Update button, then select Send Login Information.
The users will then receive an email titled "You've been invited by (Company Name) to use Tallie." They can click on the Connect To... button to re-establish a connection between their email address and their Tallie account.
Sending Login Information from Within the User Profile
To send a password reset from within a user profile, follow the steps below. If the user has not setup a password yet, they will receive an invite to join the account:
- Navigate to Settings.
- Click on Manage Lists.
- Select People.
- Select the user profile to which you want to send a password reset.
- Change the Send Password on Save option from NO to YES.
- Click Save or Save and Exit to send the user a password reset or invitation to join the account.
Password Reset vs. Sending an Invite
A password reset allows a user to update their password and access their Identity Details page, which they can then use to log into a Tallie account.
An invite gives a user access to join and connect to a specific Tallie account for the first time.
When to Use:
-
Use Send Invite if the user is new to the account or has been disconnected.
-
Use Password Reset if the user is already connected but needs help logging in.
