Emailing receipts is one of the many ways you can upload receipts into your Tallie account. Emailing receipts instead of uploading them is especially useful for users not using Apple or Android devices.
This article will show you, the user, how to email your receipts to firstname.lastname@example.org as well as how to begin using them in your Tallie account.
Step 1: Open your email and start composing a new draft. Attach a receipt to the email and send it to email@example.com
Step 2: If you have more than one Tallie account (or enterprise), you can specify which account you'd like the receipt to go to by including the account name in the email subject. The account name must match exactly with what is shown on your Identity Details page.
Please Note: If the subject line is left blank or no matching account is found, Tallie will upload the receipt to all accounts you're connected to.
Step 3: Login to your Tallie account and go to the Purchases page. You will see the receipt you just emailed appear as an expense tile.
Please Note: Best practice is to leave the body of the email blank. Otherwise, the extra text will appear as another receipt.
Step 4: You can also forward receipts from online purchases to firstname.lastname@example.org. Tallie will scan for information to populate the Merchant Name, Date and Amount fields into the Expense Tile.
Adding an Email Address to your Tallie Account
Step 1: Login to your Tallie account and click your name in the upper-right corner. Then, click Edit your account.
Step 2: Click Add new email to this identity.
Step 3: Enter the email address which you will sending receipts from and click Add Email.
Step 4: You'll receive an email from Tallie with the subject line "Please verify your new email address" in the email inbox you just added. Simply click Verify in the email to complete the action.
