Troubleshooting QuickBooks Desktop Queued Reports & Sync Issues Follow
Synching your expense reports between Tallie and QuickBooks is a simple process that is done automatically. However, sometimes reports can get stuck in your queue in the Exports tab in Tallie and won't sync to QuickBooks. This can happen for a number of reasons, including outdated software and unconnected systems.
This article will show you some troubleshooting tips to get your expense reports to sync on both QuickBooks and Tallie.
Restarting TallieConnect
Step 1: Right+Click the TallieConnect icon from the systems tray, located in the bottom right corner over Windows.
Step 2: Select Exit to shut down TallieConnect
Step 3: Once TallieConnect is shut down, restart it and click Sign-In and Connect to Quickbooks
Step 4: When signed-in, Tallie and Quickbooks will sync, which will push the Queued reports through.
If the behavior persists, please follow the remaining troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.
Updating TallieConnect
Step 1: To check if your version of TallieConnect is updated, right click the TallieConnect icon in your systems tray.
Step 2: Click Check for Software Update.
Step 3: If you have the most updated version of TallieConnect, the screen below will appear. If your version of TallieConnect is not updated, follow the prompts to download the latest version. For further tips about updating TallieConnect, reference our article.
If your sync is still not working, continue to the next section.
Please Note: Along with TallieConnect, your Windows Operating System will need to be updated to Windows 7 or newer and QuickBooks will need to be updated to 2013 or newer.
Running QuickBooks
Step 1: In order for a sync to occur, QuickBooks needs to be running. To ensure that it is, right click TallieConnect in your system tray and choose Sign In and Connect to QuickBooks.
Step 2: Follow the screen prompts until you can click Finish. This should initiate a sync between Tallie and QuickBooks. Continue reading if error messages/sync issues persist.
Updating QuickBooks Preferences
Step 1: Open QuickBooks. Click Edit followed by Preferences.
Step 2: Click Integrated Applications followed by Company Preferences.
Step 3: Make sure that the "Don't allow any applications to access this company file" box is NOT checked.
Step 4: Once unchecked, click TallieConnect followed by Remove. Then, Yes.
Step 5: Go to your Systems Tray and right click TallieConnect. Choose Sign in and Connect to QuickBooks.
Step 6: When going through the prompts, click Auto Detect QuickBooks.
Step 7: Click Connect to QuickBooks.
Step 8: Reconfirm the QuickBooks Application Certificate. We recommend choosing "Yes, whenever this QuickBooks company file is open" however choose a YES option that fits your company's needs and policies. Once selected, click Continue.
Step 9: Grant Access Confirmation by clicking Done. If this does not initiate a sync, continue reading.
Shutting down TallieConnect and QuickBooks
Step 1: Quit both TallieConnect and QuickBooks.
Step 2: Launch Task Manager and end all tasks pertaining to TallieConnect and QuickBooks/Intuit.
Step 3: Restart your computer.
Step 4: Once your computer is back on, relaunch QuickBooks from its saved file location instead of the program shortcut. This can be found in your Company Files or Downloads folder.
Step 5: Right click TallieConnect in the system tray and choose Sign in and Connect to QuickBooks.
Step 6: Follow the prompts and click Finish when complete. If this does not initiate a sync, continue reading.
Updating QuickBooks
Step 1: Open QuickBooks and click Help followed by Update QuickBooks Desktop.
Step 2: Click Update Now followed by Get Updates. If a sync is not initiated, continue reading.
Please Note: This step will work even if automatic updates are on.
Uninstall TallieConnect
Step 1: Go to your computer's Control Panel and click the Uninstall a Program link under the Programs icon.
Step 2: Find TallieConnect and double click to uninstall.

Verify and Rebuild QuickBooks
Step 1: Open QuickBooks and click File. Then click Utilities followed by Verity Data.
Step 2: Click OK.
Step 3: Once that has completed, click File, then Utilities followed by Rebuild Data. If issues persist, continue to the final tip.

Step 1: If none of the above steps have helped, right-click on TallieConnect in the system tray, click Logs, and then click Send Logs to Tallie Support.
